I wouldn't describe the moment as embarrassing but it was pretty awkward.
Recently, I had bought a Saree (example shown in figure - not the same one) as a masters degree graduation gift for a friend of mine.
However, I still wanted to buy a blouse that goes with the Saree. I am not really great at picking matching clothes which women like so I took my mother along with me to select one.
We went to the store and the following was the conversation between us :
Mom : Dei... What do you want to select?
Me : Ready made blouse which matches with this saree *shows picture of the saree*
Mom : OK good. Show me a picture of your friend and I will guess the appropriate size.
Me : No worries. 34D
Mom : *a look which can't be described in words* What? How do you......
*awkward silence*
Me : Mom.. I guessed it from her picture and asked another female friend to guess it. They both matched.
Mom : *look of suspicion* Whatever..

In our college, students are not allowed to use the elevators.
One day, after lunch I was very late to the class and had to climb five giant floors. So I was requesting the lift operator to allow me in. After some mild negotiations, he agreed. Just when the lift was about to close and climb, it re-opened.
*Boom*, it was the professor to whose class I was already late.
"Don't you know that students are not allowed to use the lift? Move out of the lift". It was only the lift operator and my professor in the lift. But they sent me out :(

The professor also said, "A minute late to the class after I'm in, and you're out. Get it?" I was badly in need of attendance. So I had an evil plan.
I started running like MS Dhoni between the wickets. After reaching every floor, I would press the elevator open button and run with an even higher speed which would delay the professor's arrival time to the class as it would open in every floor and close.
In the third floor, as soon as I pressed the button, the elevator opened in some nano-seconds even before I could blink. And my professor was easily able to connect the dots :(
"Oh, so it was you doing that?", he asked. "Sir, but you said...", I was murmuring to myself. "Who do you think you're fooling? I'm a forensic science analyst"
"Get inside the lift", he said "Be early to class next time, get it?"
"Thank you so much sir", I said and "You too man", I thought.
This is one of the unforgettable embarassing moments where I was caught trying to be over-smart :(
